Rockwell OV-10 Bronco mission capabilities resemble those of a fast, long-range, inexpensive, reliable, heavy duty helicopter. It can cruise at 225 mph, can carry 6,000 lbs., and can loiter for over three hours.

OV-10 Bronco aircraft are known for their versatility, short field ability, redundancy, load, wide field of view, low operating cost and ease of maintenance.

The aircraft are no longer used by the U.S. military. Among other things the aircraft are now used for anti-drug crop spraying, and by NASA for noise and stability research.

The Bronco is no longer produced, so operators try to keep extra aircraft air frames for use as spare parts.

The aircraft are used by the CDF for command and control. Their crews handle vital tactical coordination with ground personnel providing information on movements, etc. The OV-10 then directs CDF fixed-wing aircraft and helicopter pilots as necessary.

Approximately 300 Rockwell OV-10 Bronco aircraft were produced.

We received the following email from Joe Ordell: "Thought I should tell you of my experiences with the NitroPlanes rc OV-10 Bronco.
I was impressed with the sturdy package that the rc OV-10 Bronco arrived in. The outside of the package was damaged during shipment, so I held my breath while opening it. Luckily there was
no damage to any of the parts. Everything was well packed from the largest pieces to the smallest hardware. Good work NitroPlanes!
The rc OV-10 Bronco looks great and very realistic. The covering is excellent and only needed minor touch-ups in a few places. Assembly went smoothly and quickly.
We had quite a few people at our model field for the first flight of the NitroPlanes rc OV-10 Bronco. Many had years of experience flying rc airplanes and were happy to share their knowledge and experiences with me. One of the changes several of the flyers suggested that I make, after observing how the rc OV-10 flew, was to was to add differential to the aileron throws. I did notice the rc airplane skidding its turns and decided to make this change once it was back on the ground.
When the rc OV-10 Bronco landed, the right aileron was found to be detached at the control horn. That left a lot of the rc experts red faced, especially me! I should have done a better job checking all of the controls before flying the airplane. Once the horn was reattached, there were nothing but positive comments from all the spectators. Control authority was excellent throughout the performance range of the rc OV-10, from maximum speeds to landing speeds. And the landings were easily accomplished.
The NitroPlanes rc OV-10 Bronco looks and flies terrific. It attracts lots of attention when in the air too. It is one of my favorites."

We appreciate you writing and sharing your experiences with the NitroPlanes rc OV-10 Bronco, Joe.
