NOTE:
RADIO CONTROL AIRPLANES ARE ON THE BOTTOM HALF OF THE
PAGE.
The PZL P.11 was
the primary Polish fighter aircraft when Germany invaded Poland at
the start of World War II. At that time there were about
160 of the aircraft of all types in service.
The aircraft was known for its good climb rate, excellent
maneuverability, and all around cockpit vision.
Unfortunately, by the start of the war, it was outclassed by
modern Luftwaffe aircraft.
The aircraft simply did not
have the speed to keep up with them.
PZL
P.11 aircraft gave as good as they got. It is estimated
that the outnumbered aircraft scored 126 victories over Luftwaffe
aircraft at a cost of 114 aircraft of their own.
A total of 325 PZL P.11 aircraft of all types were
produced.
