Rockwell OV-10 Bronco mission capabilities resemble those of a fast, long-range, inexpensive, reliable, heavy duty helicopter. It can cruise at 225 mph, can carry 6,000 lbs., and can loiter for over three hours.

OV-10 Bronco aircraft are known for their versatility, short field ability, redundancy, load, wide field of view, low operating cost and ease of maintenance.

The aircraft are no longer used by the U.S. military. Among other things the aircraft are now used for anti-drug crop spraying, and by NASA for noise and stability research.

The Bronco is no longer produced, so operators try to keep extra aircraft air frames for use as spare parts.

The aircraft are used by the CDF for command and control. Their crews handle vital tactical coordination with ground personnel providing information on movements, etc. The OV-10 then directs CDF fixed-wing aircraft and helicopter pilots as necessary.

Approximately 300 Rockwell OV-10 Bronco aircraft were produced.
